CASE STUDY 2
SELF-KNOWLEDGE. GREATER SPIRITUAL DEPTH
This client was a psychologist with a sincere and deep Zen Buddhist practice when he came to me. He was curious about my work and was taking it on an exploratory mode. We ended up working together consistently for a year and a half. He experienced deep spiritual states and an embodiment of the masculine. He was incredibly smart, driven and well versed in both psychology and meditation. What this work did was to bring his knowledge and spiritual connection into an experiential form. It brought him out of his head and into his body. As he said to me during one of the sessions “The only thing we have in our way is ourselves.”
His heart opened and he discovered a foundation of strength and vulnerability within his heart. He described it is “heart-centered will.”
During a particularly profound moment during one of the sessions, he also exclaimed in wonder “this shit is real.” One of my favorite lines and one I’ve heard a few times. It captures the essence that you can know something theoretically, but to have an experience of it is to know it from deep within yourself.
