CASE STUDY 1
Finding Your Voice.
This client struggled with self-worth. It showed up in many places in her life. One example was the difficulty she had in asking her boss for a day off. She felt powerless and unworthy. Her work was demanding and her boss was both intimidating and unpredictable. In our work together, we focused on her sense of worth. She built up the courage to approach him for time off and got it. Fast forward a year later.
Asking for time off is a simple, non-event. We continued to work together and her relationship to herself and others is much different. She is honest and direct with her boss and their relationship with him has shifted for the better. He trusts her to do more and has expanded the scope of her responsibilities. My client took it further and has found her voice and spoken up for herself and others in the workplace against sexism behavior.
She did not come to me to learn how to ask for time off. Or even to resolve her professional relationships. And yet, in taking the steps towards herself, it propelled her in positive directions she could not anticipate. Small victories can bring big change.
